This mission is accomplished by the creation and implementation of a long term strategic plan that increases coordination, promotes best available practice, makes efficient use of resources, and both directly engages with, and better responds to the needs of, people on the spectrum and their families.

Selection of Commission Members

Over 60 individuals submitted applications expressing their williningness to serve on the Oregon Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Governor’s Office identified applicants they believed could best represent key stakeholder groups and at the same time see the issues from a comprehensive statewide, multi-systems perspective.

The thirteen members of the Commission wear many “hats” both personally and professionally. They bring to the discussions the perspectives of self advocates, family members, educators, healthcare and human services professionals and advocates.
